Roses are Red & Engines are Loud
Our Epynt Motor Club members chose motorsport over romance yesterday to compete in the popular The Festival Targa Rally 2026, organised by Bath Motor Club. Results were provided by Rally Roots.
Bleddyn Thomas in Car 28
Bleddyn had Brecon MC member Sam Weller on the maps and finished 8th overall and two awards:
Highest Placed Classic Car Driver; The Festival Classic Trophy.
Highest Placed Classic Car Navigator; The San Remo Trophy (Donated by John Davenport)
“A good day for the pair of us . Our only goal was to go out and enjoy ours selves and get a finish as in past events we haven't had much luck.
After test 2 we were 6 o/a but unfortunately test 6 saw us getting stopped due to a car getting stuck and blocking the test, which gave us a nominal time and that moved us down to 8th. Finishing 8th o/a 7th in class and winning best classic driver and navigator we are definitely over the moon”
Ben Chilman & Liam Griffiths
in car 87
A change of seats for Liam (from Griffiths Rallying) moving from the drivers to the navigator for this event. This was Ben’s second time out in the car, so it was a steady start for them. As the day went on they were achieving some top 30 times in the tests by the end of the day. They finished 61st overall.
Will Lewis & Callum Griffiths in Car 81
Another swap of seats for the duo with Will driving and Callum navigating. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good start as they broke a shaft on the first test. They were able to get back out for some of the later tests with some quick times. They were able to finish 43rd overall.
