Charity Presentation Night

The Club held their Charity Presentation at the Seven Stars Inn, Aberedw with food provided on Friday 6th March 2026 with an excellent turnout.

Epynt Motor Club’s annual road rally was held on the night of the 8th /9th November. The 2025 event marked the 13th running of the DG Jones Agri Powys Lanes Rally, which was first established in 2011 by younger members of Epynt Motor Club reviving the Powys Factors Road Rally which ran until the mid-1980s. The rally began in Rhayader for its first few years before moving to the Royal Welsh Showground near Builth Wells, and in recent years has been based in Llandovery.

The event has been made possible thanks to the continued support of Gerwyn Jones of DG Jones Agri, who has sponsored the rally since its beginning in 2011 and continues his support as the event prepares for its 14th running on the 7th/8th November 2026 from Llandovery.

The rally has also benefited from the generous support of Doody Farmer, through the Rob Farmer’s Trust contributing funds towards the event awards including the Young Navigators Award for competitors under the age of 25 years old. The award aims to encourage the next generation to become involved in the sport.

Since its launch, the Powys Lanes Rally has raised an impressive £27,420 for a wide range of charities.

Last year the committee chose to support two local charities, Prostate Cymru and Brecon Mountain Rescue, with donations of £1,500 each …

Breconshire Friends of Prostate Cymru

Breconshire Friends of Prostate Cymru is the leading prostate health charity in Wales, supporting men with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer. The charity relies entirely on public donations as it receives no government funding. Funds raised are used to:

 1.      Raise awareness of prostate cancer and prostate diseases

2.      Support treatment and improve medical equipment

3.      Fund research and innovation across Wales

4.      Support the education of medical professionals and students through online resources and travelling fellowships

These initiatives help ensure men in Wales suffering from prostate disease have access to the best available NHS treatments.

Brecon Mountain Rescue Team

The Brecon Mountain Rescue Team covers a large area of Mid and West Wales, spanning around 700 square miles. Their operational area stretches from Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park in the south to Newtown in the northeast and Aberystwyth in the northwest.

The team operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in all weather conditions and across difficult terrain. Their work extends far beyond rescuing climbers and hillwalkers. They are frequently called upon by police to:

  •       Search for vulnerable or missing persons

  •        Assist farmers involved in accidents in remote areas

  •        Help horse riders, cyclists, kayakers and others in difficulty

Like many rescue teams, all of their funding comes from public donations, as they do not receive government funding.
