Rally Guide now available for the event.

This years Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally will take place over the Epynt Ranges on Sunday 25th August, this year’s event will feature a small number of changes following feedback from Competitors. To help competitors, marshals and spectators we have created a rally guide, whilst it’s not a definitive list, we hope that it will be useful to everyone looking for places to stay or eat. We have also listed local family activities, for anyone who might want to take advantage of the bank holiday weekend and bring their family along

 Once again, the event will be based out of the Royal Welsh Showground for documentation and scrutineering, where everyone is welcome to come along and see the cars up close while they are inspected ready for the event from around 2pm on Saturday 24th August until 5pm.

 Following feedback from competitors the Sunday will see the first control of the day and drivers briefing take place on the Ranges, meaning cars will not need to start from the Showground as with previous years, the service area has also been moved closer to the stages so that service crews can watch their crews compete.  The first car will start stage one at around 08:30, where competitors will be faced with around 72 miles of pure tarmac competition over approximately 13 stages, all for £395. Supplementary Regulations for the event will be available from 9pm on June 14th at

 he final major change for 2019 is the introduction of the Rally Marketing Epynt Stages a separate event for those that want to have a taster of the Epynt Ranges, or find the full two-days too much, The Rally Marketing Epynt Stages will consist of around 34 miles over 6 stages for £195, taking place solely in the afternoon with scrutineering in the morning and no recce, it is ideal for new competitors, or those a little nervous of the Epynt. Regulations will be available from June 14th.

Marshals are needed to ensure the smooth running of the event, details on how to sign up will be available from from June 14th. Spectator details will be available from the website around a fortnight before the event.

 The event is a round of the following champions;

  • Protyre MSA Tarmac Championship,
  • Team Promotive King of Epynt Challenge,
  • JD Competition Tyres Welsh Tarmacadam Championship,
  • Association North Western Car Clubs Stage Rally Championship.
