Round 3
The third round of the Epynt Motor Club navscatter championship was organised by Tim James and James Stuart.
Starting from Rhayader, there were then 18 clues to find around Llandrindod Wells, Penybont, Llanbister and Abbeycwmhir.
In first place overall were Neil Wozencraft and Ceri Davies, who took home the first expert driver and navigator awards. With this being the crew’s third maximum score this year, they now look like strong favourites for the championship win (and last year’s Capel Isaac disaster seems like a distant memory).
In second place were Gerwyn Jones with his grandson Gethin on the maps. Gethin won the first novice navigator award and now leads the class in this year’s championship.
In third place were last year’s expert champions, Brian Jones and Michael Hardwick, who must have been tired after a busy time lambing.
In fourth place were Andy Vale and his son Sean, with Andy taking home the first novice driver award and now in joint first place in the championship.
It was good to see nine novices out of fourteen competitors taking part on the night, well done to you all!
