Epynt Motor Club is delighted to welcome the Old Forge Garage incorporating Dennis Motor sport as sponsors of the Mewla Rally. This family run business by father and son, Brian and Tim Dennis are no strangers to motor sport. Brian has been rallying Minis for over forty years whilst Tim who started on two wheels now hill climbs one of the very special Mini’s run by Dennis motor sport. The Old Forge Garage has for many years been associated with he Gremlin Rally going back to the days of the Motoring News Championship. We hope this new association with the Mewla Rally will be as long and special.
Plans for this year’s August bank holiday weekend Mewla Rally are well underway. The event will consist of 80 stage miles over 14 stages on the Epynt Ranges. The entry fee is held at the 2013 price of £345.
The service area will once again be situated on Mabion’s Way. As the centre road is unavailable, this means that we can make full use of all the challenging roads that Epynt has to offer, including the German Village.
The rally is a qualifying round of the REIS MSA Asphalt Rally Championship, Quantum King of Epynt, Steve Harkness Welsh National Tarmacadam Championship, the ANWCC Stage Rally Championship and the Millington RWD Challenge.
The winning crew of the Road Rally Class on this year's Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally will receive a free entry on the 2014 DG Jones Agri Ltd Powys Lanes Rally. The event, which is also organised by Epynt Motor Club, will be held on November 8/9th. It will be based in Builth Wells with a 110 mile route on maps 147 and 148. The Powys Lanes Rally was voted best event in the WAMC Road Rally Championship last year.
Regulations can be downloaded here and the entry form here or contact the Entry Secretaries, Keith and Trina Edwards, Tel 01982 551246 or Email mewla.rally©virgin.net

Once again Epynt Motor Club and The Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally sponsored the Ysgol Dolafon tag rugby tournament which was held on May 16th. Club members Brian and Lynne Jones attended the tournament and presented each competitor with a medal and the winning team with a trophy. Six teams competed and it was Builth who won for a third year running. Two pictures and a report featured in this weeks Brecon and Radnor newspaper.

There is a second spectator entrance, which can be accessed from the A483 via Llanwrtyd Wells and Tirabad. The use of these spectator areas is strongly recommended by the organising committee for best viewing and to avoid causing obstructions to the running of the event. Please follow all signage and marshals instructions.
Please note that there will be no access onto the Epynt Ranges via Sennybridge and the surrounding villages due to PR problems. Spectators will not be allowed into FIBUA (The German Village) by order of the military.
A spectator map and timings can be downloaded from here. This is an updated version to correct a mistake in the original version. Spectator programmes, which include full stage maps and viewing point locations, will be sold for £10 per car. Money raised will be donated to Breast Cancer Care and other local charities. Money raised from spectator donations on last year’s Mewla has been donated to Wales Air Ambulance, Beulah Young Farmers Club and Ysgol Dolafon, Llanwrtyd Wells.
The event will finish at approximately 4.30pm at the Royal Welsh Showground where the awards presentation and champagne celebrations will be held.
