Epynt Motor Club Tag Rugby Tournament

A tag rugby tournament organised by Ysgol Dolafon, Llanwrtyd Wells, was sponsored for the second consecutive year by Epynt Motor using funds raised from spectators on their EventSigns Mewla Rally held last August.
Seven local school teams competed including the hosts Ysgol Dolafon, Irfon Valley from Garth, Builth Wells, Franksbridge, Llanelwedd, Trefonnen from Llandrindod Wells and Newbridge.
The tournament was run on a round robin format and Newbridge School were crowned the winners after claiming victory in all six of their matches.
Organiser Jennifer Connelly said “Once again Epynt Motor Club sponsored the event and we would like to thank them for that. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event.”
Proceeds from the EventSigns Mewla Rally have also been donated to the Welsh Air Ambulance and Beulah Young Farmers Club.
Epynt Motor Club now has plans well underway for this year’s EventSigns Mewla Rally which will be held on August bank holiday weekend and look forward to helping more local causes in the future.

Epynt Motor Club - Hillclimb

The first hill climb of 2010 at Llys y Frân saw the Magnum Holbay of Javis Developments competing for only the second time since being rebuilt. On its first outing last July, the event was a washout with rain getting into the electronic timing equipment causing all to be abandoned. This time the weather smiled on the 64 competitors as they queued to attack the hill. The Magnum is a single seater clubman racing car first run the 1970’s and is classified with other cars of similar power. Over the three practice runs and two timed runs driver, Alun Probert, shaved seconds off his times, ending with a fastest time of 46.91seconds. This gained the car 1st in class and an excellent 5th overall. Preparations will now be made for the next event at Llandow.
