As the 40th anniversary year of Epynt Motor Club came to an end, the annual dinner and awards presentation was held at the Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells.
Mr John Probert, club president, gave a speech reviewing the club’s activities over the last year and guest speaker for the evening, Graham Handley, who won last year’s EventSigns Mewla Rally organised by Epynt Motor Club, entertained everyone with stories from his long and successful rallying career.

After some of our club members expressed an interest in organising a road rally a meeting to form a committee was held at the Llanelwedd Arms on Friday 27th November. There was a massive turn out of nearly thirty club members and the following officials were appointed:
Clerk of the course – Ceri Davies
Assistant clerk of the course – Doody Farmer
Secretary – Tim James
Entries secretary – Ashley Morris
Chief marshals – Eric Tong & Cliff Jones
Sector marshals – TBA
Club steward – Alun Probert
Equipment officers – Michael Hardwick & Roger Stevens
Treasurer – Graham Tong
Minute secretary – Kate Elias
Press officer – Steve McPhee
It was decided that the rally will be open to all, with an expert, semi expert, novice, and beginner class.
A second meeting was held on Friday 8th January when ‘The Powys Lanes’ was decided as the name of the rally and the provisional date 5th/6th February 2011 was suggested.
Some venues to start and finish the rally were discussed and also possible sponsors, which hopefully will also be confirmed at the next meeting being held on Friday 5th March.
Any other members who would like to join the committee are very welcome.

Two sessions are being held for Epynt Motor Club members to gain an introduction to basic first aid including resuscitation, signs and symptoms.
The sessions will take place at 8pm on Thursday 11th February and Thursday 11th March at the Institute, Llanwrtyd Wells.
