Novice Navscatter

  • Belle Vue Hotel Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales, LD5 United Kingdom (map)

What a promising start to the year! We were delighted to have nine crews turn up for our novice navscatter last night.

Starting from the Belle Vue Hotel in Llanwrtyd, crews were given plenty of time and support to plot the map references. They then had an hour and a half out in the local lanes to practice their map reading skills and find a variety of clues and code boards.

All nine crews made it back to the finish for chips and a chat as the answer sheets were marked.

As expected, the mentor crews with a bit of expert support from their driver topped the leaderboard, with Nobby and Sam taking the overall win.

They were closely followed by the grandfather and grandson pairing of Gerwyn and Gethin, who were only one clue behind on Gethin’s first ever event to finish in second place overall.

In third place overall were Kyle and Jac, who picked up the awards for first in the novice class.

Winning the beginner class on their first navscatter, were Luke and Rowan, who finished in fourth place overall.

Well done to everyone for taking part, we hope you all enjoyed it!
